Toffees’ first-half flurry finish Villa
In an emphatic fashion, Everton is following the suit of their Men’s team, by starting off the season with high-flying and high scoring performances.
So far the club has been getting better in their performances. They followed their fourth fixture up very nicely after betting Spurs 1-0 in their league fixture and beating league champions, Chelsea, 2-1 and Birmingham City, 3-0, in the Women’s FA Cup.
The scoring began when their new signing Hayley Raso grabbed a brace in the space of 3 minutes, just after the 20-minute mark, and Aston Villa was down 2-0.
In little to no time, the score was now 3-0 after Isobel Christiansen found Claire Emslie who tucked the ball away nicely.
Five minutes before the of the first half, Australian international winger Hayley Raso, who scored the first two goals, turned into the provider for Valerie Gauvin got onto the scoreboard too. The score was now 4-0.
The second-half began and Everton continued as they started when Centre of Excellence graduate, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah scored (51′) after being assisted by Megan Finnegan. In a similar fashion to the first three goals, another flurry began. Claire Emslie got their sixth goal (53′), only two minutes after.
Villa just couldn’t find their feet and there fears the club would continue to lose composure. Fortunately for them, Everton seemed to slow down and the score remained 6-0.
