Arsenal Score Nine In London Derby Against West Ham

Arsenal move to the top of the table

Premiering on BT Sport was an outstanding performance by Arsenal Women; which clearly highlighted their intentions on winning the league this season.

In a dazzling display by dutch duo Miedema and Roord, where both netted a brace and a hat-trick, Arsenal humiliatingly beat the Hammers by eight goals; with the final score on ending 9-1.

Defending Woes

This display does beg the question if it was the occasion being televised did get to the East London club despite a strong start to level the game 4 minutes after Miedema, grabbed the opening goal. It was a display that put Kenza Dali’s leveller in vain.

However, on the night it was Jill Roord stole the show, bagging her second hat-trick, after completing her first against Reading in the season opener.

West Ham, who haven’t won against Arsenal in the newly established WSL yet, currently sit at 8th in the table.

It is a given that they will now find it very difficult to move up the table with this result damaging their goal difference. The luck is found in this performance occurring early on in the season; leaving time for confidence to grow and of course, mistakes to be addressed quickly.
