Quarrel over pay
Spanish women footballers have opted to go on strike with regards to the pay and this will be the second time this year. The first time this occurred was earlier this year, May 19, due to failures in agreeing with clubs what wage and working hours.
Currently there is a proposal to work 20 hours in any given week, but more than 90% of the players believe that 30 hours of the week will need to be done.
Athletic Bilbao captain Ainhoa Tirpau said “We feel that we are soccer players full-time, and that some clubs have had players with contracts of 12 hours per week.
