Montpellier Come Out On Top in Seven Goal Thriller

Paris 2 – 5 Montpellier

A game that looked balanced, with both teams having two goals a piece at the 60 minute mark saw a drastic change in the last ten minutes. Fortunately for Montpellier, who were looking to solidify their position in third, the hosts, Paris capitulated and could not maintain their ability to resist rising pressure.

At the Stade Robert Bobin, the home side took the lead through Camilla Catala (5′) and then this was match by Valerie Gauvin (27′). The next two goals came just nine minutes apart from both clubs, however, they were on either side of each half; Montpellier’s Anouk Dekker (39′) put her side up before Julie Soyer (48′) brought the game back to a winnable game in the second half.

It is not known what was said to drive the performance in the last few minutes but the visitors idd turn on the heat and Gauvin getting two more goals to score a hat trick (86′,90+1′) and Lena Peterman adding more to solidify the win (84′).
