Miedema’s Madness
Dutch international Vivianne Miedema stole the show in today’s UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture. The Arsenal Women striker put the Gunners ahead by with two quick goals in the 24th and 26th minute. It was a great start for the Londoners, especially against a side who’s reputation is based on their ability to score at will; they even won 13-0 on the weekend against Dukla Praha.
These goals definitely put them at ease and they began to gain momentum, so much so that Miedema bagged a first half hat trick, scoring in the 39th minute.
In the same fashion, the Gunner’s started off strong and they bagged two more goals in the 52nd minute, with Miedema at the helm and Little converting a penalty on the 58th minute.
Slavia Praha got their consolation goals as they started to battle back through Kateřina Svitková (71′) and Mia Persson (88′).
