Lionesses Sack Chris Phillips

Four games are not enough?

Despite winning four of their six games in the FA Women’s Championship this season, Chris Phillips, who managed Millwall Lionesses before they broke away to become London City, was let go yesterday.

In his final game managing the club, the Lionesses beat league newcomers, Coventry United, by two goals to one, at the Butts Park Arena; Tlenia Priest (36′) and Kallie Balfour (88′) goals game them the victory.

In the interim, Head of Player development at London City  and former technical director of Arsenal Women, John Bayer, will oversee their game against the London Bees on Sunday; a derby.
