The away side seal win early
With only 20 minutes of the game being played, Chelsea Women had in some ways already won the game.
By this time, they were alarm 3-0 up, scoring in the two goals in the first 10 minutes and adding the third goal 8 minutes later and the stats prove how embarrassing of a defeat it was at the Stoke Gifford Stadium.
Chelsea recorded a staggering 28 attempts, 13 of which were on target; in comparison to Bristol’s 1 off target shot on goal.
On a similar note, the London club also dominated possession, 64% to 23% and had 15 conversions to their name. Yet this does not tel the whole story. Why would a team that is winning have more fouls than their losing opposition ( Chelsea fouls 10 vs. 5 Bristol City) , obstruction, tactical fouls, just exactly was the game plan; well only, Emma Hayes knows.
Needless to say, this does not excuse Bristol’s poor start to the game, which Guro Reiten took advantage of, scoring the first two goals for Chelsea (3′,10′). This was followed by Ji and Ingle’s close ranges finishes (18′, 78′).
