Manchester United 0 – 1 Arsenal
Dutch international, Danielle Van De Donk sealed the victory for Arsenal Women in today’s tie against Manchester United Women. This win ensures they maintain their 100% start for the season with Everton Women and Manchester City Women sitting above them in the FA Women’s Super League table.
United held onto the game due to the series of saves made my England keeper Mary Earps. however, Arsenal continued to apply pressure and managed to squeeze a goal out of a stubborn Manchester United.
The Gunners had a 58% shot accuracy rate and 63% of possession, so it was only a matter of time; the most surprising thing about the game is how long it took for Arsenal to get ‘that’ goal.
Van De Donk’s shot ricochet of an Arsenal defender and into the back of the net on the 89th minute; a goal that keeps them in their bid to become back to back Women’s Super League champions this season.
