A Six-Goal Thriller
Hosts Leicester City battled it out for the win with London Bees at Farley Way Stadium but the game ended as a draw. City were put to the test when Bee’s manager Lee Burch seemed to have inspired a great performance which put Leicester at unease in the second half; with City getting their point in the last minutes of the game.
Leicester City took the lead when Leigh Dugmore fired them ahead with a outstanding volley and then Lucy Johnson doubled the home side’s lead 20 minutes into the game.
However, former Crystal Palace forward Nikita Whinnett pulled one back one back for the club with Lauren Pickett equalling the score. The game went on level until five minutes before the break when Pickett scored again, apparently winning the game for the Bees.
Unfortunately, Leicester’s Nat Johnson capitalised on of their final chances converting a corner into a goal ; two minutes after her team conceded what looked to be match winner for the visitors.
