FC Metz 0 – 7 Montpellier
It was game for two halves of the Div. 1 Feminine table, with 4th placed Montpellier travelling to the Stade Dezavelle to play 10th placed Metz, who are currently sitting in the relegation zone.But it was the away side, who played like they had more to lose.
In the first 20 minutes they scored the first goal of the game when Janice Cayman took advantage of a mistake by Metz keeper, Lerond, and poked the ball into the back of the net. 12 minutes later, MHSC were 3-0 up when Sofia Jakobsson scored twice, a low right footed strike which Lerond couldn’t keep out and a then by lobbing the keeper.
The second half began like there wasn’t a break and one would wonder what was said at half time as cracks in the Mezzines defence continued to show. On th3 47th minute, Montpellier surely put the game to bed when Clarisse Le Bihan powered her shot passed the keeper.
The blitz continued with a 3 more goals being scored on the 63rd, 68th and 81st minute by Marion Torrent, Valerie Gauvin and Anouk Dekker. It is fair to say that with how the defence played, there was nothing Justine Lerond could to keep a clean sheet.
