Former Arsenal Women keeper to become first female inductee

Emma Byrne, who has played for St Patrick's Athletic, Fortuna Hjorring, Arsenal and Brighton is set to make history on Sunday by being the first women to be inducted into the Republic of Ireland's Hall of Fame.

The appointment comes from her accomplishments in her 20 year career. Byrne has won every title to win in the UK, has accumulated a record 134 international caps and has won the UEFA Women's Champions League. For these reasons, Byrne's entry into the hall of fame is well deserved and comes of no surprise.
