Last gasp goal gives win

Blackburn Rovers midfielder, Natasha Fenton, won her team their first game of the season during a injury time period that spanned 4 minutes.

It is a good achievement for the newly promoted club and they hope to make further strides in this league.

There were a few events leading up to the goal that put Blackburn Rovers one point ahead of 9th placed Crystal Palace; who are yet to win a game but also yet to lose, drawing their first two fixtures.

In a very open game, Gherelle Khassal scored the first goal for Crystal Palace and the Republic of Ireland international made sure the eagles were off to a great start on the 13th minute.

Rovers fought back when Jade Richards, who was stood at the back post, headed in Ellie Fletcher’s delivery into the box.

The next two goals came in the second half with Bianca Baptiste slotting the ball away after jumping on a stray pass (50′).

The  equalizing goal came from a penalty which was given after a Palace player handled the ball in the box and it was deemed deliberate.

England youth defender, Ellie Stewart, stepped up to take the penalty and she calmly placed took advantage of the opportunity; the score was now 2-2.

There were a few more chances from both sides but nothing could be mustered and this led to Fenton headering the ball into the far corner after getting her self free during the corner.
