Denmark Put 8 Past Malta

Nadim and Troelsgaard both grab a brace

The win against Malta has propelled Denmark to the top of the Group B table; for their attempts to qualify for the UEFA Women's European Championship 2022. They are now level on points with Italy who sit in second place.

The Danish women have been in tremendous form, winning their last two games with a high-margin, scoring 14 against Georgia and 4 goals against Bosnia.

Interestingly enough, this result is an exact repeat of the final score when the two teams met in August last year.

However, the biggest difference is that Nadim was the one of the notable players in today's scoreline on that wasn't in the score sheet during that game. 32 year old Rosengard midfielder, Troelsgaard, Chelsea's Penille Harder and Aston Villa's Stine Larsen all featured in the goals today as they did in their previous encounter against Malta.

In a trailblazing fashion, the Danes had almost 30 attempts on goals whilst keeping the ball 76% of the time. Malta found it difficult to get into the game and could only muster 2 attempts on goal.

Denmark's 560 passes, where 3 times greater than Malta's and taking into consideration the shot count, it strongly suggests that the majority of the football being played was in Malta's own half.
