Youth player, Mia Büchele, is rewarded with a new contract
Büchele, still only 16 years old, made her debut for the first team in the Bundesliga last season and the club have been impressed enough with their performances that she has received an extension much earlier than ever expected.
The club’s sporting director, Birgit Bauer, is very excited about their new prospect saying:
“I am very happy that Mia has decided to continue her journey with us. She is a very talented player and we are convinced that we will have a lot of fun with her. “
The Germany youth international, is a midfielder and is very versatile. Currently, Büchele is expected to continue her development within SC Freiburg’s u17 set up and there is a possibility that she may make a few more appearance for the first team this season.
Though her recorded international squad number (no. 6) suggests she is a specialist in ball retention, recovery and distribution, she is very much an attack minded player; scoring 11 goals in 18 games for Germany across the u15, u16 and u17 levels.
Mia Büchele also shared on how she sees her future with the club:
“I feel very comfortable in Freiburg and am grateful to the club for the trust they have placed in us. The fact that I was able to gain my first Bundesliga experience here as a 16-year-old is very much appreciated and I am looking forward to more years in the SC Freiburg jersey, ”said Mia Büchele after signing the contract.
