Glasgow City 0 -2 Brøndby IF

Wake up call revives Glasgow’s  to late arrival

Despite winning the first fixture in a similar bout (Glasgow being the away team), the scottish side could not muster up the same strength at home and unfortunately lost the second leg of their Champions League fixture.

Beating them on penalties after levelling the aggregate score (2-0 to Glasgow in the first leg), Brøndby IF proved themselves and to their supporters they the journey was not a waste; and that they are good enough to progress.

Though attempts from Leanne Ross and Jenna Clark looked to have sealed the game in extra time,  the Danes first half goals, from Nanna Christiansen (6′) and Frederikke Boline (37′), sealed the victory for them.

One could say Glasgow were forced to wake up by losing the first half in some sense, however, turning up in the second half and extra was just what they needed. Glasgow keeper, Lee Alexander, did well to keep their progressions hopes alive and proved to be the hero, saving numerous penalties.

The Scots won 3-1 on penalties.
