Emma Hayes calls for WSL focus
The Chelsea Women manager believes in a greater Women’s Super League focus after Casey Stoney mentioned that even playing at Old Trafford would not increase the fan base of the Red Devils’ women team.
The argument is to make more fixture to grow the competition, however, there are only 12 teams in the league, so having this actioned would mean more teams to be added; however, the it depends on it this will get approved in the future.
Hayes described her disapproval of the competition saying “This competition, that competition… boom, one f****** league, it’s not difficult,” she said. “Get rid of the Continental Cup, get rid of it, make more league fixtures.”
