Rapinoe pulls the strings
Thursday’s game against Korea saw the US Women’s National Team continue their wining ways.
Playing like the champions they are, the win did not come easy for the Americans and their first goal came on injury time. Allie Long got in behind and in her stride she excellently tucked the ball away from Megan Rapinoe’s free kick.; this was her 8th goal.
Agonizingly enough, Christen Press has many attempts to put the team up ahead but she only came as close as hitting the post after she dribbled past the keeper; she was even goal clearances also being made.
The second came from a driven corner in the box and Korea were undone by their poor attempt to mark zonally. As a result, Mal Pugh was left to head the ball in.
