Highest capped Matilda to be first woman inducted
45 year-old centre back and Australian legend Cheryl Ann Salisbury will be inducted into the Australian Sports Hall oaf Fame; and will be he first Matilda to do so.
Salisbury finished her career with the Newcastle Jets in 2010, making seven appearances and scoring one goal. Throughout her playing career, she has played for teams such as Panasonic Bambina, Takarazuka Bunnys, Memphis Mercury and New York Power.
She has made a record 151 appearances for her country; winning the OFC Women’s Nations Cup three times (994, 1998 and 2003), whilst contributing 38 goals along the way.
