Schülller & Klasen move Essen to 5th
Today SGS Essen hosted Potsdam in a mid-table clash and responded well to crtitcs; after losing 7-0 to Hoffenheim last week.
There was drama early on in the game though, Maria Cristina Lange coming on as a substitute for Ramona Petzelberger who was injured after 5 minutes. This immediately put pressure onto Essen, and the unsettlement was evident.
However, Lea Schülller settled the unrest with a goal when she was fed the ball by full back Turid Knaak and like the fox that she is, she slotted the ball past Vanessa Fischer.
Though Potsdam tried to apply more pressure after the break, with Lara Prasnikar coming close, Turid Knaak was involved in the goals again; Jacqueline Klasen got onto the end of her Knack’s corner which was poorly cleared and slotted from close range.
