SWPLs league leaders win after early scare
Glasgow City FC beat Chertanovo by four goals to one; which saw them win 5 -1 on aggregate.
In this fixture, Glasgow were the home team, hosting the opposition at Petershill Park.
The Scottish club had a scare early on with Kristina Komissarova scoring for the visitors after 3 minutes. However, Hayley Lauder equalised four minutes later, levelling the score.
Clare Shine put the side ahead in the 29th minute before Rachel McLaughlin put any hope of getting back into the game for the Russian side just before the 70 minute mark.
Lauder grabbed her brace on the 76th minute and this goal solidified them as one of the eight unseeded clubs to go into Monday night’s draw in the Women’s Champions League’s last 16.
