FIFA President Gianni Infantino calls for change
Infantino calls for change comes after the death of a female Iranian football fan who died after setting herself on fire; this was for being denied access to a stadium.
As a result, Infantino has described the ban as ‘unacceptable‘ and FIFA’s stance is clear and firm on their position.
However, other blame FIFA for this incident, with the sister of Masoud Shojaei, the captain of Iran’s Men’s Football team saying it is a result of FIFA’s failure to implement their own gender discrimination laws.
