Lewes 2 - 0 Millwall
Lewes keep their FA Women's Championship hopes alive in this week's bottom of the table clash against Millwall's Lionesses.
With goals in each half, one being extremely early (Jess King, 2) and the other being very late (Charlotte Owen, 87) ,Lewes build upon their win against Crystal Palace and are now within touching distance of Aston Villa who sit in 8th place.
Faye Baker on the East Sussex side's performance:
“It was probably not our best performance, it was a bit scrappy in the second half, we just tried to get the job done.
“We dug in, rode the storm and managed to score a screamer at the end. I'm really happy with the three points, that's six points on the bounce for us now in the league.
“I just think we've come together during these last few weeks. We're starting to gel and take on board what Fran (Alonso) wants us to do.
“We've got a little more resilience and fight about us and we hunt in packs. We're not so worried about pretty football at the minute, we just want to get results and get together as a team.”
