Social media giants seals top flight rights
Twitter streamed their first match last week when Ponte Preta loss 4-1 to Corinthians.
The deal will cover 134 games across the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino’s league phase and knockout stages.
Manoel Flores, director of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), gave more insights on why they have done this deal:
“With this partnership, we bring to our users and advertisers the possibility to see and value women’s sport. More than that, we are very happy to support the sport, as a platform that gives women’s football the space it deserves,” said director of sports partnerships for Twitter for Latin America Pitter Rodriguez.
“Twitter is a platform that is always at the side of sport and football,” said CBF director of competitions Manoel Flores. “Watching it betting on women, and given the visibility that the platform can give, fills us with hope for the future of the league.”
