Reading 3 – 4 Manchester City
In a game that could be described as a series of comebacks, it was the northerners, Manchester City Women, who held on for the win.
Reading’s Brooke Chaplen put the home side ahead within 3 minutes of the game, but this seemed to light the fire that would burn through Nikita Parris; who later went on to score a hat trick in less than 30 minutes.
Parris’ first two goals were assisted by Jill Scott and Demi Stokes on the 15th and 36th minute. But her final goal, which came 3 minutes later, was the pick of the bunch; as she calmly chipped the ball past the keeper.
City’s final goal came from Demi Stokes, who made a surging underlapping run from defence to get put through on goal and poke the ball past the keeper.
