Two years, two deal
At the age of 11, Olivia Moultrie made history in women's football; she accepted a scholarship to play soccer at the University of North Carolina (UNC).
Two years later, aged 13, Moultrie has signed a representation deal with Nike, courtesy of her sports agency Wasserman Media Group.
Not much information has been disclosed but her agent, Spencer Wadsworth has mentioned that this is a multi-year deal.
By undertaking this action, she has started her professional career, forgoing her eligibility to play college soccer in the future.
Her agent shared some insights with the NY Times:
“It’s just a shift in women’s sports,” Wadsworth said. “You see it more and more now where women’s soccer is catching up to the men’s side, and there’s more opportunities for them.”
