Fifa Has Announced An Increase In The Tournament’s Winnings
Next year’s Women’s World Cup will see an increase in the winning prize money.
The winners of the tournament, which happens every four years, will win £3.1m ($4m); this is double the amount of the winnings for the 2015 tournament.
In addition to this, the overall prize fund has also doubled, rising from to £23.4m.
Fifa President, Gianni Infantino said:
“It’s a very important message for women’s football. It will certainly boost this World Cup even more.”
