Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Sit At The Top of the FA Women’s Championship
Spurs have continued their unbeaten start to the season by running a riot against Millwall’s Lionesses at the Cheshunt Ground yesterday. As a result of this win, the North London club have now made it five wins from five games and are sitting at the top of the league. It’s an impressive start to the season.
The team was 4-0 up before half-time with goals from Dean, Addison, Wiltshire, and Neville. The team doubled their tally in the second half when Baptiste and Addison added to Dean scoring two more goals.
The star of the game was without a doubt Rianna Dean who scored a hat-trick on her birthday against her former club in the 29th, 50th and 71st minute of the game.
Dean on the team’s win:
I didn’t look at it as a match against my former team and put pressure on myself like that.
“We went out there, we did very well, we got into the game after the first five minutes. As soon as we got the first goal that just set us off, after that there really was no stopping us.
“The back four were superb, our midfield was excellent and there was good movement up front too.
“We worked so hard in training over the week. It is those little things that you do then that allows us to perform the way we do. The work we put in allowed us to go at them at 100 miles per hour.”
“I couldn’t thank the players and the staff for their belief in me. Because I feel that believe it allows me to play the way I do, and so I wouldn’t score the goals I have without the team I have around me”.
