Brighton & Hove Albion Women Frustrate Everton Ladies
The first goal of the game came in the 3rd minute as midfielder and club captain, Dani Buet, scored possibly the best goal of her career, perfectly striking the ball 20 yards from outside the box.
Inessa Kaagman, Gabby George and Chloe Kelly overturned the Everton’s deficit, getting a goal each, on the 27th, 46th and 70th minute of the game. However, 8 minutes later, Brighton was level as this season’s new signing, Ellie Brazil, manages to get on the scoresheet twice; getting on the end of Aimee Whelan’s flick and a Dani Buet cross.
Buet was happy to get off the mark for the season and the England international was extremely delighted with how it came about:
“No, I don’t think I’ve scored one better, I think it was my first outfield goal in about six or seven years so I wasn’t expecting it if I’m honest!
“If you connect well with the balls we use in this league, then it has every chance. But whilst I’m happy to score, I’m just happy we secured the point,” she told Brighton & Hove Albion Online.
